Aloha Ohana, I am so blessed to serve alongside each of you as we serve Jesus and one another. My name is Pastor Paul Gates and I look forward to meeting you personally.

I was blessed to be born and raised in the jungles of Papua New Guinea, as the son of Wycliffe Missionary parents, which still is making an imprint on my life. Being modeled and shown early in life, the power of helping and encouraging others. One of my main themes of my life was formed by being around my parents and so many missionaries growing up, that “happy people, help others”.

I have been an ordained pastor and nonprofit leader for the past 35 years, working in the church and the nonprofit sector. Most recently working alongside an amazing team at River of Life Mission, a historic homeless ministry here on Oahu, transitioning it from 1 location to over 80 HUBs where groups of people, in every community, are serving and helping the homeless right in their own community.

I am married to the most beautiful woman, inside and out. Shauna is a fitness instructor on the North Shore and truly gifted at her craft. We have 7 kids together and now 4 grandkids.  

I have been blessed to serve around the world in almost every state across the United States, as well as serving in 27 different countries – leading, speaking, teaching, consulting and performing over 400 weddings.
