Hi! I’m Cheryl, and I’m a barista at One Love’s Compassion Cafe, where I get to serve alongside some truly amazing, dedicated volunteers.

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Guam and moved to Honolulu back in 2004. I actually planned on going to college on the mainland, but God had other ideas—His plan, not mine! In 2007, I met my husband, who introduced me to Jesus. Before that, I was pretty caught up in the Theory of Evolution. I grew up in a home where church was just a box to check on Sundays, and I didn’t understand what it meant to have a real relationship with God.

But James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” The more I heard God’s Word, the more my eyes were opened, and I realized Jesus was calling me home.

Today, my absolute greatest joy is serving the Lord, loving my family, and talking about His amazing grace. I’m so incredibly grateful to serve our church community and share Christ’s love—one cup of coffee/tea at a time.

I am stoked to be a part of the One Love family and invest in the future generation of our church family.  One Love is a special place and I am blessed to be in the presence of you all. I appreciate your prayers for the youth and our amazing team. To be filled daily with the Holy Spirit, to walk with wisdom, and to be rooted firmly in the word so we can lead well. I ask for prayers for the youth, that each student would experience the Holy Spirit on a personal level, and this would just be the start of an amazing revival for the Aina!
