About One Love Ministries:

Purpose:

The Marketing Director is responsible for increasing the visibility and professionalism of One Love’s ministries across print, web, and social media related channels. This includes increasing marketing initiatives, both in Kakaako and island-wide, to promote the reach, influence, and impact of the ministry. A job well done provides all who engage with One Love's branded communications a spirit of order and excellence, providing them a clear opportunity to attend, engage, support and/or serve at One Love ministries to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ..

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a level of excellence in various core channels of communication for One Love.
  • Implement initiatives that promote the continual growth, reach, and impact of the ministry and messages. 
  • Support continual development and optimization of the One Love, Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy, and GoodNewsHawaii websites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation of all marketing materials, communications, and events throughout the ministry. 
  • Lead the development of the OneLove.org website while continually developing strategies to improve usability, design, and content conversion. Currently, the supervision of Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy (WBC) is a shared responsibility with the Media Director.
  • Maintain corporate standards and guidelines for One Love and its various ministry segments and events (i.e., Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, CR, etc). 
  • Support weekend messaging graphics, slides, videos, announcements, banners, events, etc.
  • Manage all suppliers, including, but not limited to, designers; copyrighters; printers; merchandisers; online, direct mail, promotional, and social media-related vendors. (this role hopefully will be supported by project managers.)
  • Work with the Media Coordinator to support and promote weekend celebrations, events, and testimonies through various social media (this includes various events that need to be highlighted, many of which aren’t talked about in E-News). 
  • Review and suggest improvements to improve the smartphone app and messages to the congregation on an as-needed basis. (Mainly done by the Media Coordinator)
  • Develop and maintain various key ministry identities and graphics on an as-needed basis. (One Love has house of brands meaning each ministry has its own look & feel. This includes their own logos, colors, and graphics. )
  • Direct/support weekly ministry spotlights and pulpit announcements, and provide needed materials such as slides. 
  • Manage all the One Love corporate and ministry-related branded merchandise such as stickers, hats, journals, etc.
Promotional Opportunities when time allows
 
  • Establish and implement initiatives that provide a steady stream of new visitors to the ministry (this has been discussed through pay-per-click and organic optimization of our current website. Recently the radio budget has been removed to consider promoting web and social media-related communications initiatives.
  • Promote discipleship-making opportunities such as GoodNewsHawaii or the Foundation Course discipleship brochure. 
  • Produce reports based on site metric tools such as traffic, performance, retention, and page views when requested or when time allows.
  • Audit/implement new technology, media, and emerging standards related to internet marketing and digital media when time allows.
 

Hardware knowledge necessary includes:

  • How to operate a Mac computer.

Software knowledge necessary includes:

  • Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, various social media and CMS-related technologies, and various stock video/imagery/design sites (Shutter Stock, for example).
  • WordPress / Elementor – Website Builder

  • Mailchimp – Email Newsletter
  • Google Suite & Task – Project Recording & Management

Reports to

  • Derek Napoleon, Executive Pastor (Questions, Approval, & Direction)
  • Gary Rosolowich, Executive Director (Budgets).
Opportunities
  • (the next level – what you’re not doing but could, provided the staff, time, energy, and/or resources)
  • Restructure the Onelove.org website based on visitor traffic activity and ministry hierarchy to enhance congregation participation and engagement. (Some of this has been done, but the process is ongoing.)
  • Develop and Manage One Love’s branding standards, including, but not limited to, various ministries and events to build brand awareness and provide a steady stream of new visitors to the ministry.
  • Create a microsite for One Love Windward to expand their online presence. 
  • Design, manage, and implement an annual communications plan, including a direct mail campaign for the Kaka’ako neighborhood and online promotion to expand the reach, impact, and influence of the ministry.
  • Measure and report campaign results.
  • Manage congregation mailing lists and information – direct email correspondence?
  • Looking for different ways to promote One Love Ministries – and creating a budget for promoting (movie theaters, mailers, social media, and TV)
  • Work with outsourced social/web agencies to increase organic, and pay-per-click awareness.
