Derek Napoleon

Executive Pastor

My title says Executive Pastor, but I prefer the designation, Head Servant at One Love. I absolutely love serving the Lord and his people. I believe I do that first and best in my own home. I have been married to my amazing wife Pam, for over 37 years. We have 5 children and 7 grandchildren and yes, they are all amazing!

I was born here on O’ahu, but I was raised for nearly all of my childhood on the Island of Tutuila in American Samoa. I got saved when I was 17 while attending the American Samoan Community College. My walk with the Lord has had it’s peaks and valleys to be sure, but God has been faithful through it all. My life has been marked by these three verses; Genesis 50:20, Revelation 12:11, and 2 Corinthians 5:16-17.

I was ordained in 1996. I served as an Associate Pastor at a congregational church on the Big Island for 9 years. I eventually became the Senior pastor and held that position for 5 years. God then called us to a much larger church in Gresham Oregon, where we served for nearly 5 years until God called us to One Love in 2018. That is quite a story and I’m happy to share it with you.

It has been a privilege to serve in a variety of ways at One Love over the past 8 years. My greatest prayer these days is that I would grow in the Fear of the Lord. So if you want to pray for me, you know what I’m praying for.

Whether hiking Half Dome at Yosemite, sky diving on the North Shore, or fishing our shoreline, I love adventure. I connect with the Lord deeply with the Lord in nature. I can’t stand raw onions and have a low tolerance for religiosity. And TOADS, yuck! I look forward to meeting you and getting to know at one of our weekend celebrations. Aloha!
