There you can submit prayer requests and help in praying for others. Click here to stay informed about our prayer meetings.

Life Groups

LIFE GROUPS AT ONE LOVE

Life Groups are where community happens at One Love. It’s a place to get connected, build relationships and live out God’s mission together in ways that cannot happen at large gatherings.

Most of our Life Groups are made up of 6-10 people who want to grow spiritually as they connect with people who are going through a similar season in life. Our groups nourish an environment that facilitate friendship, encourage discussion, allows connection through prayer and motivate service throughout the community.

Fill out the form below and we will work to ensure you find the group that works for you!

FAQs about Life Groups

WHY SHOULD I JOIN A LIFE GROUP?

Here are three reasons to join: First, you will make new friends and connect to a smaller community rather than just being a face in the crowd. Second, you will grow spiritually and in a Christ-like manner and finally, you get the opportunity to engage with others on their spiritual journey as you share and encourage others in their faith.

HOW OFTEN DOES A LIFE GROUP MEET?

Most of our groups meet weekly, and they meet on a specific day and time (i.e Tuesdays from 7-9PM). Second-mile groups meet weekly all year round.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A LIFE GROUP MEETING?

Every group is different, but there are a few common threads. Groups are encouraged to have fellowship time either in the beginning or the end, as this gives participants time to connect with each other and develop their friendships. Discussion and prayer are the backbones of Life Group’s, and the topic of the study is something relevant to the members of the group. The study selected can be a topical book such as Love & Respect, a book of the Bible or a Second Mile, which follows the current One Love Sermon through the outline and notes of Pastor Waxer.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL LIFE GROUP STAY TOGETHER?

Our life groups and second-mile groups meet all year round.

WHERE DO LIFE GROUPS MEET?

Most of our Life Groups meet in homes. A few meets in Koinonia Hale and others meet at coffee shops.

IS CHILDCARE PROVIDED?

Every group handles all babysitting needs in its own way. Some of the groups make a previous arrangement with a babysitter or two, and the parents share the hourly cost. Some groups are kid-friendly, and others ask each participant to make their own arrangements. Before the beginning of the study participants will know if children are welcomed to the group or babysitting is to be arranged.

Foundation Course

Strengthen the Foundation of Your Faith

In the book of Matthew, before Jesus ascended back to heaven, He commanded His followers to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” Here at One Love, we are all about teaching the word and equipping the saints to raise up faithful followers of Jesus Christ. This means that we exist to equip you with the right tools to fulfill Jesus’s command to “Go and make disciples.”

We are inviting you to come and participate in the Foundation Course — One Love’s discipleship curriculum. This is a six-week course that is hosted at One Love’s Kaka’ako campus and is designed to help you build a solid foundation to make your faith your own. During the course, we will help you to examine the Word of God and the essentials of Christianity in order that you may be equipped to share your faith with others.

The Foundation Course is designed for believers at all stages of their walk with Christ. So whether you’ve just raised your hand to receive Christ or you’ve been following Christ your whole life, these classes will help you to grow deeper in your faith.

This course will allow you to have an open dialogue to discuss any questions that you may have about Christianity, the Bible, and God. Our Foundation course is hosted three times a year during the weekend celebrations on either Saturday at 5:30 p.m. or on Sunday at 8 a.m.

If you haven’t taken The Foundation Course yet, we encourage you to contact us to stay informed of our upcoming courses. We look forward to meeting you and helping you grow in the Lord!

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” — Matthew 28:19-20 NASB

Baptism — Take a step of obedience

Play Video

Baptism is going public about your faith in Jesus and communicating to the world your heart-felt commitment to following Him. It’s the next step after salvation and done out of obedience to God’s call to consider yourself dead to sin and alive to Christ!

Our next Baptism event is scheduled for Sunday, January 21st, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Waikiki Beach Chaplaincy, Kahanamoku Beach, adjacent to the Waikiki Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort.

Please arrive 20 minutes early. Baptism is scheduled once every two months. Sign up below to be updated about our next baptism event!

In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately coming up out of the water, He saw the heavens opening, and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon Him; and a voice came from the heavens: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.” — Mark 1:9-11

Celebrate Recovery

WHAT IS IT?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered and Bible-based 12-Step Recovery Program. The purpose is to focus on God’s healing power through fellowship with others. By working the 12 steps and the 8 principles, small groups open up, share experiences, and explore hope. In this way, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our problems.

Celebrate Recovery is:

• A 12-step discipleship program based on Jesus’ teachings

• Focused on the participant taking personal responsibility

• Confidential: a safe environment

• Open to men and women 18 and over

• For the churched and the unchurched

• About growth and healing in small groups

WHO NEEDS IT?

This ministry is for people with all types of problems and addictions, which are unhealed, unmet, or unresolved. This program is for anyone dealing with hurts, hang-ups, or habits. These may include (but are not limited to): abuse, overeating, overspending, overworking, sexual time addiction, depression, divorce, codependency, drug/alcohol addiction, grief, anger, and others too numerous to mention.

Celebrate Recovery is a discipleship program for anyone who wants real and lasting transformation.

HOW CAN CELEBRATE RECOVERY HELP ME?

By linking its four main components: fellowship, bible study, worship/teaching, and support, you will discover a defense against sin and experience a fresh start from any difficulty which may be preventing you from experiencing the life God intended for you.

It is only through the saving grace of God that healing will begin and a new direction for your life will emerge. Ultimately becoming free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors brings peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly a stronger personal relationship with God and others.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME?

As a member of Celebrate Recovery, you are invited to attend as often as you would like and whichever portions of the program you choose (however there is proof that the more involved individuals are, the more benefit they receive), support your fellow members, become more accountable and maintain strict confidentially.

WHO LEADS IT?

Christians, who understand the challenges you’re facing, have taken the time to be trained in the 12-step program, and care enough to want to help.

Marriage Ministry

Helping Marriages Thrive… for a lifetime to God’s glory!

For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. — Genesis 2:24 (NASB)

Thrive, One Love’s Marriage Ministry is designed to connect married couples to resources that strengthen marriages. Strong marriages lead to individuals that are humbled and refined to reflect His image and couples that reflect Christ’s loving and sacrificial relationship to His bride, the church.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed and disconnected in a marriage, so we have created a simple way to access tools that will help marriages grow in godliness and “thrive!” Fill out your contact details below, and we will share valuable information and keep you informed of upcoming marriage focused events.

The righteous thrive like a palm tree and grow like a cedar tree in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord, they thrive in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, healthy and green, to declare, “The Lord is just; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. — Psalm 92:12-15 (CSB)

Men’s Ministry

MEN’S MINISTRY

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13

About:

Our Men’s Ministry, a.k.a. ‘Da Jesus Guys’, is a weekly meeting for all of the men of One Love! Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. we offer music, a warm welcome to first visitors, our weekly testimonies, powerful teaching, and a time to break into small groups for discussion and prayer.

On the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., our ministry hosts ‘Da Grind’! We all bring some food to share, potluck style, and we talk story. This is usually our biggest crowd, and it’s always a blessed time together. Come and join us! All men, all ages, all Jesus!

Our Vision:

We are here to encourage and equip men to live out their new life in Jesus. Every Christian man has a glorious destiny! It’s wonderful when brothers in Christ get together. We hope the fresh insight and loving fellowship that each man receives in these meetings will bless every area of his life. If God’s own adopted sons are living abundantly, then our families, friends, homes, communities, and workplaces will also benefit greatly!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)

Jesus Guys Essentials:

1. We accept Jesus’ invitation to follow Him and invite others to come with us

2. We fulfill His commission to make disciples. We focus on being personally discipled to maturity and also regularly disciple others just as we were taught.

3. We call each man to know and walk in their new and true identity in Jesus.
• We are LOVED powerfully and without condition.
• We are now HOLY sons of God, to be filled with the Holy Spirit

Women’s Ministry

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

VISION: For all women to know Jesus, His Word, and grow as His disciples.
Our One Love Women’s Ministry is here for women (18+) to know Jesus, understand His Word, and live as His disciples.

We do this through weekly Bible Studies, Small Groups, and Special Event Gatherings to focus on learning and applying His Word to our lives. We love as Jesus loves in our relationships, families, and community. We look for opportunities to share Jesus with those around us, prayerfully relying on the Holy Spirit to empower our call to the Great Commission. As we Abide in Jesus, we grow in maturity, love, and unity as women and members of the Body of Christ.

Vision: For all women to know Jesus, His Word, and grow as His disciples.

Mission: For all women to be disciples of Jesus in their lives, homes, and communities.

As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in My Love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My Love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His Love. ~Jesus (John 15:9-10)
