Windward Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT

It can be a scary experience walking into a new place where you may not know anyone. We understand the anxiety that going to a church for the first time might bring, and we want to be sure and make your experience one that is stress-free and welcoming.

Below, we have listed some of the most Frequently Asked Questions we get. If you have any others, please feel free to call the church office 955-9335 or email us by using contact us below.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’re comfortable in. Some people come to church in shorts and a t-shirt, while others dress in business casual, and occasionally you might even see a tie! There’s no Biblical style of dress, so it’s up to you. If wearing a sundress, you may want to bring a sweater or sweatshirt since the air-conditioning can be quite chilly at times.

Will I have to say anything?

Nope! We want you to feel comfortable. We won’t single you out in any way, except if you’d like, we would like to give you a lei so that people can make sure and introduce themselves to you. But that is completely up to you. When you come, you can feel free to sit back and enjoy the celebration.

How will I find my way around?

We try our best to make sure that the first faces you see are smiling ones. We have greeters in the parking lot, at both entrances and throughout the sanctuary who will be happy to give you a quick tour, help you check your kids into their classrooms, and help you find your way to a seat in the sanctuary.

What about my kids?

We have an awesome ministry for your children during our 10 a.m. Sunday service, from newborn through the fifth grade, called Jesus Kids! We also have a nursing mothers room for those who have the need.

We provide a safe and loving place for your newborn in the nursery. We also have a room for toddlers, 19-35 months, complete with worship, lessons, toys, and activities. Children from preschool through 5th grade will enjoy age-appropriate teaching from the Bible, worship together and experience hands-on learning activities.

We care about the welfare of each and every child, all of our children’s workers are screened through a process that includes reference calls and background checks. We will assign you a parent-specific number and should your child or their teacher need you we will post your number on the main screen in the sanctuary. This also provides a secure drop-off and sign in system.

What about Junior and Senior high Students?

After worship is over students in middle and high school join our youth leadership team led by our Youth Pastor. Your teens will build friendships with other students as they dig into their Bibles and study God’s word. They will also work off some energy playing crazy games.

Sunday Morning at 10:00 AM [6th-12th Grade Only]
Wednesday Night at 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM [Youth Midweek]
1st & 3rd Thursday Nights 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM [Sr. High 9th-12th Only]

Will I be asked to give money?

Nope. We do not pass an offering plate at any time during our services. Tithing boxe is located in the back of the sanctuary next to the tv. It is there as a part of worship for those who are part of the body of Christ and understand the principle of tithing. You should never feel pressured to give money.

What’s the celebration service like?

Our celebrations begin with worship. We have a live praise band who lead us in fun, upbeat, contemporary worship. Then we have announcements and move onto the message. The messages are directly from the Bible, so if you have a Bible, bring it. If not, we have them available for you from our ushers.

When the message is over our praise band will lead us in another time of worship. During this time you’ll see a lot of movement as people get up to take communion on each side of the sanctuary. Prayer team members are also on the sides ready and waiting to pray with those who want prayer.

We have a hospitality table outside of the main entrance where we offer coffee and donuts for those of you who may need a little coffee or sugar to get your brain going. Donations are accepted but not required.

We hope that this time will become your favorite way to start each week.

What We Believe

Statement of Purpose: “One Love Ministries exists to Teach the Word of God, and Equip the Saints.”

Vision:

  • Win a Person to Christ (Mark 16:15-16)
  • Disciple a Person in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)
  • Send a Person for Christ (Acts 1:8

Values:

  1. Lost people matter to God, thus they ought to matter to the church.
Worship and Scripture study comprise a lifestyle expressed with private consistency and corporate vibrance.
  2. The Good News is that the Lord accepts us as we are, but the Great News is that He doesn’t leave us that way.
  3. The church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally and personally pure.
  4. Life change happens best in Life Groups because belonging encourages authenticity.
  5. Who you are is more important than what you know or what you do.
A call to servanthood and ministry is the natural progression of a maturing believer.

What’s at the Core of One Love?

We Believe the only true basis of Christian Fellowship is God’s Agape Love, which is greater than any differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves to be Christians.

We Believe Worship of God should be Spiritual. Therefore… we remain flexible and yield to the Holy Spirit to direct our Worship.

We Believe Worship of God should be Inspirational. Therefore… we give great place to music in our Worship.

We Believe Worship of God should be intelligent. Therefore… our services are designed with great emphasis on Teaching the Word of God, the Bible, that He might instruct us as to how He would be Worshiped.

We Believe Worship of God is fruitful. Therefore… we look for His Love in our lives as the Supreme Manifestation that we have truly been Worshiping Him.

Spotlight

Spotlight Worksheet

Spotlight Worksheet

This worksheet is designed to ensure you have all the details necessary to successfully share about your ministry during your spotlight presentation.

The Spotlight is a 3-4 minute presentation that One Love Ministries does after our celebration announcements and before our sermon. This is a time where One Love spotlights a ministry that our congregation can support. Spotlights can include both images and videos and include an individual speaking on the microphone to our live audience. All spotlights should end with a clear call to action such as “Visit (URL) to sign up today!”

E-News: We will often share the spotlights we have via our direct email channel the week after the spotlight. The URL you provide above (if applicable) will be used to direct people to find out more information about your ministry.

Timing: Please provide all graphics and videos to media@onelove.org three weeks prior to your spotlight.

Script: We suggest you be sure to include not just the “what” but the “why” people should get involved in your ministry. Consider having a leave behind or something people who are interested can take home.

Questions: If you have any questions on this form, please email media@onelove.org or call our Media Coordinator Tuesday — Friday at 808-955-9335.

Prophecy Revelation Conference 2022

Prophecy Revelation Conference 2022

In the information age, we have watched the church turn prophecy into event-driven “signs” rather than viewed holistically as supernatural Biblical understanding, for which it is intended. Additionally, many solid believers do not have a Biblica worldview of prophecy and therefore read things into the text that are not there. This lack of clarity is likely because many read the Bible as if it was written “to them” instead of “for them.”

The Lord has laid on the hearts of Pastor Waxer and David to help the church understand the worldview of the authors and readers of the day — not just the context of the content, but how they saw the world around them as God gave them insight into prophecy. Becoming familiar with the prophets and the apostle’s supernatural worldview will lead you to a supernatural understanding of the end of times.
