The Church of Laodicea – the only church that Jesus had no word of commendation for. He rebuked them for being “lukewarm” and not taking God seriously. They were self-righteous and deceived. But the reason Jesus was so hard on them was because the loved them and wanted them to open their hearts and repent. What are our priorities? Are we on fire?

Sardis – The Church of the Living Dead
Sadly, the Lord had nothing good to say about His church in Sardis. It was a church with a good reputation, but was spiritually dead and in need of a resurrection. The Lord’s command to the dead in Sardis was: 1) Wake up 2) Remember what they had received 3) Repent. Let’s learn from Sardis and heed the Lord’s warning in our own lives and churches!

“The Curse of Compromise”…
Jesus commended the church of Pergamum for having a strong “front door”, but condemned them for letting Satan come through the “back door” (i.e., compromise). Where are the weak spots in our life? Do we want to receive the curse of compromise or the white stone of acceptance? Life has many choices. Eternity has only two. Let’s choose wisely!

Revelation 2:1-7 – Waxer Tipton (One Love Ministries)

The second section of the Book of Revelation, “the things which are”, begins with Jesus’ letter/message to the chruch in Ephesus. He commends them for their works, labor, patience, discernment and perseverance, but condemns them for leaving their first love. He encourages them to remember, repeat, repent, and remove, so that they can receive their promise.
